  1. Start working with your question asker. The general philosophy of Hearken is: the more you involve your question-asker, the more psyched they’ll be to share the final piece with their friends and family. You’ll ensure the final story you create actually meets their expectations and is of interest to your whole audience. Learn how to work with your question asker.

  2. Alert losing question askers. It's just as valuable to keep in touch with participants who didn’t win a voting round as the one who did. Keeping those participants engaged shows you value their input and collaboration. We have an email template you can adjust for your own use.

  3. Get in touch with your audience. One great thing about voting rounds is that you already know there's an audience waiting for this information. You can choose to make a public announcement of the voting round outcome on your website, on social media, in a newsletter, or alerting voters only. Voters are able to leave their email address if they'd like to be alerted if their chosen question gets answered. To let them know, you'll need to export the voter emails. We also think it's nice to email all voters to let them know the outcome of a round.  Learn how to export emails.

  4. How to handle anonymous or no-show question askers. Sometimes you just can't get in touch with the question asker. Here's what to do in the case of a question asker opting to be anonymous, or if the person is non-responsive.
