Overview

Your EMS's Platform Settings allow you to turn on moderation for new responses, turn on auto-delete for potential voter fraud, configure platform images and more. To access this menu, click on the organization's logo in the top left corner of your Hearken EMS, then click Manage Team and select Platform Settings.

Enabling moderation for new responses

The moderation feature allows you to review and approve responses before they are visible to the public. This is relevant for when you want to place a list embed on your site. For example, if you have configured a list embed to show the ten most recent submissions, you can turn on moderation so that new responses will only show up in the embed once you've approved them.

Checking the box that says "Enable moderation for new responses" lets you approve them before they become public. This is how a response will look when it still needs moderation in your EMS.

Once you’ve approved the response, it will become publicly visible on any relevant list embeds. You can also choose to delete responses that do not fit your policies or guidelines. (Deleting won't get rid of the response permanently: It will just archive it and remove it from your view.)

Voter fraud notifications

Make sure at least one of your users is notified when the system detects fraudulent voting. This enables you to decide what action to take to resolve the issue. In your platform settings, select the user(s) you would like to receive notifications, and then click the save button. More on what to do if fraud is detected can be found in this guide to voter fraud detection in the EMS.

The social media logo is the image that will accompany your post when you share a direct link to your embed on sites like Facebook. Your social media logo should be a square image file that is at least 200x200 px. The file can be .png or .jpg format, and it can be your logo or any other image that you want to associate with Hearken social posts.

This is what the direct link displaying the Social Media Logo will look when you paste it into a Facebook post:

Twitter handle

When a user clicks the "Tweet" button after submitting a response, we will pre-populate the tweet with your Twitter handle if you provide one.

Bookmark icon

If you want to set a custom favicon for direct links to your embeds (those hosted at modules.wearehearken.com) you can link to a .ico or .gif file using this option.

Custom font family

For full instructions on using custom fonts, read our article here.

Embed footer links

These fields allow you to override and replace the default links that display in the footer of your embeds.

Note: Take care and read consult your contract with Hearken before using these settings. Privacy laws require that you display some kind of Terms of Service and a Privacy Policy. Be aware of your legal obligations!

Embed Terms of Service Checkbox

This allows you to customize the "I accept the Terms of Service" checkbox text and link.

Note: As above, take care and read consult your contract with Hearken before using this setting. Be aware of your legal obligations!
